About

July 03, 2024

This blog exists to share engineering lessons, product development insights, and real stories from building and scaling technology in startups. I aim to write with honesty, depth, and practical value — especially for engineers, leaders, and builders in emerging markets.

I started this blog to document my journey as an engineer and a product builder, and to help others navigating similar paths — from writing code, managing teams, to shaping strategy and architecture.

My Approach to Engineering

My writing reflects my approach to engineering, which is grounded in a few key principles:

  • Pragmatism and Focus on Outcomes: My philosophy is to "Make it Work, Make it Right, Make it Fast, In That Order", prioritizing immediate value and strategic management of technical debt.
  • Customer-Centricity: Understanding customer needs and gathering feedback is crucial for iterating on a product.
  • Simplicity: I favor simple and practical solutions over complex and over-engineered ones.
  • The Power of Small Wins: Celebrating small achievements is important for maintaining team morale and momentum.
  • Continuous Learning: I am a strong advocate for a growth mindset and continuous learning.
  • Effective Communication and Leadership: Clear communication and creating a psychologically safe environment are key to a successful team.
  • Technical Excellence: A deep understanding of technology is fundamental.

Projects

Besides this blog, I'm also the creator of JetProxy. JetProxy is a lightweight, high-performance HTTP proxy library built with Jetty. It is designed for developers seeking a flexible and efficient solution for routing, caching, and managing HTTP requests.
